March 13th 1873 The Corner House, Shortlands, Kent Dear Mr. Osgood

My cousin, Miss Georgiana Craik, tells me that in the autumn of 1870 — she sent you "Rolf's Leap" — a little story for "Our Young Folks" — that you accepted it — but whether it has ever appeared she does not know — anyhow it has never been paid for. — Will you kindly enquire into this? —

I should very much like to send you for the "Atlantic" — (which you kindly keep on sending me, to my great pleasure) a one-vol volume story of Miss Craik's which I think you would like very much. — But I don't want it to follow the fate of "Rolf's Leap" — so I write first to you to ask if you would care for it —

My own writing is now so little that I have nothing to say for myself — but I do all my cousin's business for her. —

Believe me — Very truly yours DMCraik. —
