Dear Sir

On Wednesday evening — Augst 31st I shall be in Edin. Edinburgh at 33 George Square:— & will bring my M.S. manuscript with me. You will probably not be in town — but could I not have a little talk with Mr. Simpson on the subject? — On Thursday I shall likely have to cross over to a place called Urquhart — in Fife somewhere — though where I know not — returning on Saturday & between whiles I could leave the book for perusal — in the hope of our coming to terms for its publication either in Blackwood — or as a one-volume novel. —
