Dear Mr. Chapman

I see you are advertising my novels as “ Mulock ’s Head of the Family &c.” –

Now, this is very objectionable to me, as I have always resisted putting my name to any of my books: for reasons which I still keep to. Nore does my name do you any good: as to the public in general it is scarcely known at all –

Will you therefore oblige me for recalling this advertisement, & invariably keepting to the old form of “the author of “&c &c? –

Believe me Yours very truly DMMulock. – Linacre, Liverpool Oct: October 14th 1858.
