<l>Slowly, silently, now the moon</l>
<l>Walks the night in her silver shoon;</l>
<l>This way, and that, she peers, and sees</l>
<l>Silver fruit upon silver trees;</l>
<l>One by one the casements catch</l>
<l>Her beams beneath the silvery thatch;</l>
<l>Couched in his kennel, like a log,</l>
<l>With paws of silver sleeps the dog;</l>
<l>From their shadowy cote the white breasts peep</l>
<l>Of doves in a silver-feathered sleep;</l>
<l>A harvest mouse goes scampering by,</l>
<l>With silver claws and a silver eye;</l>
<l>And moveless fish in the water gleam,</l>
<l>By silver reeds in a silver stream.</l>
