Glasgow Oct October 15 My dear Mr Chapman

Could you hasten the proofs? vol volume I – is not near done yet & I shall be so hurried at last I fear: which will be hard, when visiting since one’s time is then not near so much one’s own as at home. Could not they get on faster for the next two or three weeks? – directing as before to Rev. Dr. Craik’s” Sandyford Place Glasgow.

Who is the artist doing the xmas Christmas book? Please tell me! Don’t let him be a “donkey”! Remember pity my weakness for good art as a matter of conscience in educating the million.

How are your wife & bairns Quite well, I hope! & Likewise your worthy self.

I would really like a line or two of business & Clairville Clareville news when you can give the same.

With kind remembrance to all – believe me Very sincerely yours – DMMulock.

By the bye – Mr Leitch Bikkie has been asking me to introduce to “my publisher” (that’s you of course) a friend of his – a Miss Laura Jewry author of a novelThe Cup & the Lip” – what like she may be or her book either, I have not the least idea except that Bikkie praises her.
